Ness Digital Engineering ↗

Apr 2021 - Sep 2022 1 yr 6 mos client: Canadian Tire Bank

Placed with Canadian Tire Bank on CTFS, their financial services platform, building the backend for DSS (Digital Shared Service) - the set of microservices the platform's customer-facing channels call into.

What I did

  • Individual contributor on the DSS backend, contributing across all of its major services rather than owning a single one.
  • Built the services on Spring Boot, with Spring Data JPA for persistence and Spring Security for authentication and authorization.
  • Worked within a microservices architecture wired together with the Spring Cloud Netflix stack: Eureka for service discovery, Zuul as the edge gateway, and Hystrix for circuit breaking and fallbacks.
  • Recognized with Ness's bi-annual Digital Shared Service team award in 2022 for the customer experience the team delivered.

Projects

DSS - Digital Shared Service (backend)

Individual contributor across all major services

The shared backend behind Canadian Tire Bank's CTFS platform, built as independently deployable Spring Boot microservices behind a Zuul gateway, discovering each other through Eureka and degrading gracefully via Hystrix. I contributed to all of the major services in it.
